FLITELite Dual Sensor Pilots Light

FLITELite GENII is the hands-free LED Flashlight that attaches to pilot headsets or helmet microphones. FLITELite provides light exactly where needed, when the pilot need extra light, exactly where the eyes are focused. FLITELite is controlled by a touch of the lip at the sensor pad - hence the name lip light. Since the light is attached to the headset microphone, it is impossible to be caught out in the dark without a flashlight. Batteries last for hundreds of hours, so night preflight is nearly complete once FLITELite is attached to the headset - the pilot is ready to go. Dark spots occur in nearly every cockpit, FLITELite is able to fill in those spots for pilots without having to take your hands from the controls. Several pilots using FLITELite have stated that during an electrical failure, FLITELite turned the emergency into a non-event.

Military pilots have been using lip lights, mic lights, or mike lights for many years. FLITELite engineering brought this military product to the civilian pilot cockpit. FLITELite GEN II is a new version of the lip light, built to meet the strict specifications of MIL-STD-3009. GEN II uses dual touch sensor technology, controlled by a tiny microprocessor, to be able to tell the difference between low density material, and high density material like a lip. So the pilot touches the light with the lip gently for about a second - the delay is used so that the computer can tell the difference between a true activation, and a false trip, perhaps due to talking. By using special LED's, brightness controls, filters, and luminosity settings, we are the best choice for military aviation cockpit and utility lighting. Civil pilots can benefit from the technology required to meet these specifications by buying the same lip light.

FLITELite GEN II is specifically developed for the military NVIS or NVG environment. Produced with filters and LED's designed to meet the current MIL-STD-3009, FLITELite is NVIS compatible. NVG operators will appreciate the full spectrum of the NVI White, NVIS Green or other available colors.

Each FLITELite uses a customs adapter, specifically made to fit a specific microphone. Popular models made by David Clark, Sennheiser, BOSE, and AVCOMM - are all supported. FLITELite does not use zip ties, wire, or rubber bands to get the perfect fit, our lip light is positioned in the right spot for each microphone, which means you get the right touch each and every time.
